Sugarflair Gum Arabic is an edible powder form of a natural gum from the Acacia tree. It has many uses in cake decorating:-
When added to the dry ingredients of a cake mixture, it will add some natural fibre, and assist in rising! Use 2 tspns to a 6 egg mixture.
Mix 2 tspns with 60ml water to make a glue that will stick sugar pieces together.
Glaze / Varnish-
Create your own glaze (mix as for glue) to give a shine to sugar paste and marzipan. This may be increased by adding several layers, allowing each layer to dry before adding another.
Once made up, store in a screw top jar in the fridge for several months. You may add a little alcohol to increase the shelf life.
